Summer Camps 2018
We are excited to introduce our summer camps at The Menomonee Club, Drucker Center. Each week's theme is anchored in the narrative of successful women across media, science and business. The themes create a framework for our unique S.T.E.A.M-based experiential projects that stimulate girls to discover new concepts, challenge their creativity and potential, strengthen the impact of their collective force and make sure they have lots of fun! While the camps are offered to girls 6-12 years of age, they will be grouped into age appropriate cohorts for the projects.
The structure of a typical camp day follows the activity pattern of our after-school curriculum with Learn, Build and Connect modules.
The day gets launched with a warm up exercise and a new "learning" concept. The girls are introduced to new subject matters via the achievements of women entrepreneurs, scientists, inventors or media personalities.
BUILD (10:45AM-2:00PM with a lunch break)
Following a short snack break, the girls "build" their project in keeping with the learning concept of the day, which they continue to finish post-lunch. Using critical thinking frameworks like Design Engineering, they experiment with a variety of platforms - from i-Movie to Scratch and Google Suite products.
In this last hour, girls evaluate their learning and their output. They are encouraged to provide feedback to each other and appreciate the power of their larger collective - now and into the future.
